ATM skimming is done by installing a small devise on the ATM card reader in order to capture the data on the ATM card.
It is a worldwide problem that has recently been reported in Kuwait. These attacks target the magnetic strip on the back of the ATM cards, once the card is inserted into the machine, the skimmer device copies all the clients information, the data is then added to a fake card which can be later used as replica of the customer’s card. The schemer then stands back or places a camera to try and catch the customer putting his pin number.
